Engines are often measured in terms of both cubic centimeters (CC) and horsepower (HP). Depending on your needs, you may want to convert between these two units. Our dual-purpose CC to HP and HP to CC calculator lets you convert engine sizes in either direction.
How to Use the CC to HP / HP to CC Calculator?
Select the conversion type from the dropdown menu. You can either:
- Convert CC to HP: Enter the engine size in cubic centimeters (CC), and the calculator will estimate the corresponding horsepower (HP).
- Convert HP to CC: Enter the engine's horsepower (HP), and the calculator will estimate the engine size in cubic centimeters (CC).
Conversion Table for Common CC to HP Values
Engine Size (CC) | Horsepower (HP) |
---|---|
100 CC | 10 HP |
150 CC | 15 HP |
500 CC | 50 HP |
1000 CC | 100 HP |
1500 CC | 150 HP |
2000 CC | 200 HP |
How to Convert CC to HP or HP to CC?
The general rule of thumb is that 1 HP is approximately equal to 15 CC for an average vehicle engine. Here are the formulas used:
- CC to HP formula:
HP = CC / 15
- HP to CC formula:
CC = HP * 15
For example, a 1500 CC engine would produce around 100 HP:
HP = 1500 / 15 = 100 HP
Likewise, if you have a 100 HP engine, the equivalent engine size in CC would be:
CC = 100 * 15 = 1500 CC
Examples of CC to HP and HP to CC Conversions
- 1500 CC engine: Around 100 HP
- 1000 CC engine: Around 67 HP
- 500 CC engine: Around 33 HP
- 100 HP engine: Around 1500 CC
- 50 HP engine: Around 750 CC
This calculator provides an approximation, as actual performance may vary depending on the engine type and tuning.
